Lactoferrin is an iron-binding glycoprotein that is released by neutrophils in the intestinal mucosa in response to intestinal inflammation, which results in increased excretion of lactoferrin into the feces. Fecal lactoferrin is therefore a marker for neutrophilic intestinal inflammation.
The Lactoferrin ELISA is an enzyme immunoassay intended for the determination of lactoferrin in stool.
The Lactoferrin ELISA is compatible with our IDK Extract® Stool Sample Preparation System.
