A solid phase extraction (SPE) in the 96-well format is used for hepcidin-25 enrichment. Following chromatographic separation at moderate pressures, the analyte is measured via tandem mass spectrometry (LC-MS/MS).
A stable isotope-labeled version of the analyte is used as an internal standard to correct sample loss during the sample preparation and matrix effects during ionization.
